As I sit in my warm office, watching the sleet coming down in Kensington High street, I begin to absorb what 2017 was like and what the 2018 market conditions are going to turn out to be like!
2017- Was an extremely testing market, painfully slow sales volumes ( at all levels) all across prime central London, residential lettings was fairly active. we have seen sale prices being reduced across the board by some 20% in certain cases. this was a year in which there was so much political uncertainty, Brexit negotiations everywhere, Terrorism at its highest level for many a year and so on! But we here at Rickman have weathered the storm by being professional, optimistic, hardworking and acting in the best interests of our clients, who have appreciated our service.
2018 - Oh my, what would I give for a 'Crystal ball' now!! But joking apart, I feel the sales market will improve tremendously, potential purchasers are increasing in numbers, several offers are now being seriously considered. The market has been stagnant too long and vendors are now more anxious to get moving with or without 'Brexit' - 'life goes on' new jobs, school plans, closer to family etc are key factors that have been shelved for too long. new year, New home I say.
