This area has long had Royal connections in fact since the late 17th century when the Royal Court moved periodically to Kensington House for ‘clean and fresh air’. The house subsequently became Kensington Palace and the area has been fashionable ever since, with a number of courtier’s houses been built originally around Kensington Square and then other areas of ‘the village’.
